Power implies that energy is transferred, perhaps changing form. Energy transfer can be used to do work, so power is also the rate at which this work is performed. The unit of power is the joule per second (J/s), known as the watt.

Answer:

Expended

Step-by-step explanation:

Power is the rate at which energy is expended/used up.

Power is the change in work done in a specific time interval.

Before energy can be expended, work must have been done in a particular time i.e force (energy) must have been applied to cause an object to move through a distance.

NB: The object must be moved "through a distance" before we can say work has been done which in turn result to expending of energy.
