What is the difference between a homophone and a homonym?

a homophone is when two or more words having the same PRONUNCIATION but different meanings
a homonym is when two or more words having the same SPELLING but different meanings

homonym's are words that sound alike but have different meanings. Homophones also sound alike and have different meanings, but have different spellings.
