So the water cycle consists of evaporation, condensation, precipitation, infiltration, and the runoff. The ocean fits in between evaporation and precipitation or runoff and evaporation. The water is evaporated and is sent back to the ocean by rain. It can also go back to the ocean if it reaches a runoff and flows into the ocean again.
