What is 1x^2 - 1x^2? Does it cancel out?

It cancels out. you are subtracting the same thing from itself. The answer is 0.

Yes it does cancel out, If you chance the subtraction sign to an addition sign and then make the 1x^2 negative, it would cancel out evenly.
This equation contains 2 like terms, making it much easier to simplify.

Final answer: The answer is 0 and they cancel each other out
