It was a time of hope and extreme patriotism.  We had won the Great War and America was a wonderful place to be!

In the 1920s, World War I, or the Great War, as it was called, had just ended, leaving the country with a deep and strong feeling of patriotism and joy.

That effect could be seen on the works of authors of the time. In their words and points of view, America was a great nation, and a great place to be.
