The equation would be y = -5/2x - 14. Since the slope and a coordinate pair was given, I used point slope form to figure out the equation.
Work:
y - 6 = -5/2 (x+8)
y - 6 = -5/2x - 20
+ 6 +6
______________
y = -5/2x - 14
