Kurt used the rule add 4,subtract 1 to generate a pattern. the first term in his pattern is 5. write a number that could be in Kurt pattern

This pattern is relatively simple. You are actually writing n+4-1 which is the same as n+3 where "n" is any number starting from 5 and increasting.

Kurt's pattern is:

5, 8, 11, 14, 17... etc.

All the problem is asking you to do is to follow Kurt's pattern.

5+4-1=8
8+4-1=11
11+4-1=14

And so on :)
