Colin’s piano lesson is 45 minutes, or 3/4 of an hour, long. If he practices 6 different songs and spends an equal amount of time on each song, what fraction of an hour does he spend practicing each song?

45/6=7.5 so 7.5 minutes. 7.5/60=1.25 in this scenario this would translate to 12.5% 100/12.5=8 so one song in one eighth of an hour

Answer:
(1)/(8) hour

Explanation:

Given: The total time Collin spent on 6 songs =
(3)/(4)\text{ hour}

Now, the fraction of an hour does he spend practicing each song is given by :-

\frac{\text{Total time taken}}{\text{Total songs}}=((3)/(4))/(6)=(3)/(4*6)=(1)/(8)\text{hour}

The fraction of an hour does he spend practicing each song=
(1)/(8)
