How do composite volcanoes get its layered interior?

bc of the lava the slowly it dries the more of the composite volcano gets bigger and the faster it dries will get it's layered interior

When a volcano erupts the lava/magma comes into contact with the interior of the volcano, over time it dries and hardens and creates layers with each eruption.
