The book is about a young man named pony boy Curtis and his group of friends, the greasers. Their rivals the Socs get into a fight with one of their friends and their friend Johnny kills the Socs leader bob. Johnny and Ponyboy run away and while they run away they are injured in a church fire trying to save some kids. Johnny is very badly paralyzed and dies. Dally is another friend of theirs and the police shoots him after robbing a convinence store although that is what dally wanted becaus Johnny was all he had to live for. There is a rumble and the greasers win and then it talks about how ponyboy struggles in school after all of these events. Hope this helps :)
