25 since taking half of the X term would give you -5 and squaring it would give you positive 25

Answer:

25 should add

Explanation:

Since, if we have a quadratic equation which is not a perfect square then for making a perfect square trinomial in the equation, we need to add the square of the half of the coefficient of x on both sides of the equation.

∵ Coefficient of x = 10

Half of 10 = 5

Square of 5 = 25

Thus, in equation
x^2 - 10x = 7

We need to add 25 on both sides,

i.e.
x^2 - 10x + 25 = 7 + 29

(x-5)^2 = 36

( ∵ ( a - b )² = a² - 2ab + b² )
