The greatest number of games he can afford is six. Subtract 5 from 20 (15) then divided that by 2.25 (6.6 repeating) This results in approximately 6 affordable games.

Well just subtract 20 by 5 and get 15. Divide that which is the remaining amount of money after the shoes by 2.25 and get 6.6 with the 6's going on forever. Since he can't play 6.6 games you will make it reasonable and he will only be able to play 6 games.
