Why are big waves found where they are?

there are a variety of reasons that large waves appear where they do, for instance the shape of the coast and the gravitational pull from the moon, the closer the area is to the moon (based off of orbit patterns) the stronger and more fierce the waves will be.

hope this helps you!

Waves located on the ocean's surface are commonly caused by wind transferring its energy to the water, and big waves, or swells, can travel over long distances. A wave's size depends on wind speed, wind duration, and the area over which the wind is blowing (the fetch).

Hope that helps!!
