Answer: Leningrad

Leningrad is the old name of the city of Saint Petersburg, the second largest city in Russia. Peter the Great originally named the city Sankt-Peterburg, a name he adopted due to its German undertones. After the outbreak of WWI, the city's name was changed to Petrograd (Peter's city), a Russian translation of the German Peter and burg. In 1924, after the death of Lenin, the city was remaned Leningrad (Lenin's city). Finally, in 1991, the original name, Sankt-Peterburg, was adopted once more.
