How do currents affect climate and weather.??

WOW, this question wasn't answered for a LONG TIME!! This came up in my suggested, so...I'll answer it anyway. :)

Currents can spread out the sun's energy, distributing the heat across a region of space that they occupy. They can create milder temperatures in coastal areas, and also cause more humidity, and thus, more rainfall and storms.
