He cut the loaf into equal size pieces. At the end of the party, there were 6 pieces left. Explain how you can find the number of pieces in the whole loaf if Marcus told you that 1/3 of the loaf was left. Use a drawing to show your work

There were 18 pieces to begin with because if you divide 18 by 3 you have 6. This would explain how you have 6 pieces by the end of the party. You would have to draw it by making a loaf of bread and drawing 18 lines. After that, shade in 12 so you would leave 6 left unshaded to represent your leftover bread.
