coffee has a lot of caffeine in it. caffeine increases your level of epinephrine. Epinephrine is also known as adrenalin. epinephrine can increase blood pressure, increase the contractility or force of the heart, and mildly increase the heart rate.

Most individuals consuming moderate amounts will experience few, if any, negative side effects. Caffeine may increase heart rate, body temperature, blood flow to the skin & extremities, blood pressure, blood sugar levels, stomach acid secretion and production of urine (diuretic).

Hope this helps. :)
