To start let me tell you that The Battle of Blenheim and The Charge of the Light Brigade both question the point of war and show the horror of battle. Both talk about how to deal with a day of battle. Both of them were written by Romantic poets. Of course there are differences."The Battle of Blenheim" by Southey question the purpose of war. In contrast Tennyson's poem " The Charge of the Light Brigade" glorifies war and also praises bravery. Refering to The charge of the light brigade The mood was foreboding because most of the soldiers were about to die. In this poem the author makes a vibrant story telling using vivid verbs and enhancing the power of the military. On the other hand The Battle of Blenheim wants to represent the worst form of human behavior which is war.So the tone is more direct and raw at times. The effect of the voices is clearlt supporting the idea that the authors want for their poems. One of teh quotings that support the idea of the destructive power of war in The battle of Blenheim is: .Twenty-two years after Southey wrote "After Blenheim," he altered his pacifist view of the war, writing that the Battle of Blenheim was "the greatest victory which had ever done honour to British arms". And in The charge of the light brigade, the repeated sentence that says: Forward, the Light Brigade! is encouraging the soldiers to fight in the war
