Why is 9 a square number:

1 x 1 is 2
2 x 2 is 4
4 x 4 is 8
8 x 8 is 16

SO HOW IS 9 A SQUARE NUMBER :(

square number actually means the product can be multiplied by the same number, for example
2 = 1x1
4 = 2x2
9= 3 x 3
so 9 can be square rooted so it's a square number
also 4x4 is 16 not 8 and 8x8 is 64 not 16 :)
