for the equation y = x² + 1, we know the y-intercept is at (0,1) so we need to make a table and graph about 1
x | y
-5 | 26 Y = (-5)² + 1 Choose x values and find the y value after multiplying
-3 | 10 you can choose any x values you want, just make sure
0 | 1 you have some negatives and some positives in your
3 | 10 table.
5 | 26

after you make a table with a few negative and positive points...graph

The 1 represents the y intercept so a point is (0,1). To find other points, plug in values for x. For example, plus in x and you get a y value of 2. So just plot a number of points and then connect them with a curved line( called a parabola).
