Answer:

No

Explanation:

Given

2x + 4y = -2

-4x + y = -14

Required

Is (4,-2) a possible solution?

In (4,-2)

x = 4

y = -2

Substitute
x = 4 and
y = -2 in:
2x + 4y = -2

2(4) + 4(-2) = -2

Open all brackets

2*4 - 4*2 = -2

8 - 8 = -2

0 \\e -2

The above expression shows that (4,-2) is not a solution and there is no need to check for the second equation.
