•What strategy did General Sam Houston have in fighting the Texas Revolution? Why did it work?

Sam Houston attacked the Mexican forces at San Jacinto while they were taking their afternoon fiesta. Because the Mexican troops were napping, they were confused and displaced while Sam Houston's troops overcame them. They did not have guns ready, were not in position, etc.
