One angle is 5 degrees less than three times the degree measure of another angle. Together the angles measures have a sum of 143. What is the measure of each angle.

Another angle = 37° and First angle = 3(37)-5 = 106°

Explanation:

Let the measure of another angle is x°.

First angle is 5 degrees less than three times the degree measure of another angle = 3x-5

Together the measures of angles have a sum of 143.

ATQ,

x+3x-5 = 143

Taking like terms together,

x+3x = 143+5

4x = 148

x = 37

Another angle = 37°

First angle = 3(37)-5 = 106°

Hence, this is the required solution.
