To kill a mocking bird is a literary classic. Scout is a young girl growing up in the south where racism runs rampant. She lives with her father Atticus, her brother Jem and their cook Calpurnia. Scout is rather rambunctious and prefers to wear pants and play with the boys.
The main conflict revolves around a court case where a black man is accused of attempted race on a white girl when all signs point to the deadbeat father.
Atticus, scouts father is the lawyer defending the black man.
As the story progresses we see scout slowly loose her innocence as she sees how corrupt her home town is.
