Which is true for a shotgun but not for a rifle or a handgun?

The projectiles are pellets.

A shotgun has lands and grooves in the barrel.

A shotgun shell does not use a primer.

Shotguns do not have firing pins.

This actually depends. The last two are wrong no matter what. But some handguns and rifles have shotshell loads, so they can shoot pellets. A shotgun can shoot rifles slugs. So the best answer is the first one, but not really true

Answer: The correct answer is 'The projectiles are pellets.'.

Step-by-step explanation:

In shot guns groove and lands are absent where as they are present in rifles or handguns. Primer is used in both the shotguns and rifles. This primer when burns transfers large amount of energy to the projectile to move out of the firearm.

Pellets are shot from shotguns but not from rifles or handguns

In both the shotguns and rifles firing pins are present.

Hence, the correct answer is: 'The projectiles are pellets'.
