It would give more power to the executive branch of the government. The branches then wouldn't have equal power and checks and balances won't work. There would be many justices that are young and not old according to Franklin Roosevelt.
I hope this helped!

One of the most controversial decisions made by President Franklin D. Roosevelt was the Judicial Procedures Reform Bill of 1937. In simple terms, this piece of legislation tried to integrate more justices to the United States Supreme Court. Roosevelt needed more support to pas his New Deal programs. The plan was to appoint one justice to the court for every justice that was 70 and a half years. Of course, the legislation was not passed because it would have represented a big advantage to the executive branch.

The other options of the question were B) It would have restored balance among the three branches of government. C) It would have set a precedent for government intervention in the economy. D) It would have resulted in a second presidential term for Roosevelt.
