With isoscles two side lengths or angles are equal...so you equate the sides QS and RT.
QS=3x+4 and RT=8x-10. find the value of x so that QRST is isosceles-example-1

All you have to do is make them equal to each other because they need to equal the same length

3x+4 = 8x-10
x=2.8
