So these angles are alternate exterior angles, so they are always congruent. To solve for x, all you have to do is make the expressions equal each other then solve for x. So 16x-4=14x+4. First isolate the variables by adding 4 to both sides and subtracting 14x on both sides. Now you should have 2x=8. Finally, divide both sides by 2 to get x=4. Next, to substitute it back in, simply replace the x in the expressions with 4 and solve. So 16(4)-4=60 and 14(4)+4=60.

The answer is that they are alternate interior angles, x=4, and when substituted in, the angles measure to 60 degrees.

Hope this helps, good luck! :)
