The equation will be y=3x-14

(3,-5)(5,1)
slope(m) = (1 - (-5) / (5 - 3) = (1 + 5) / 2 = 6/2 = 3
y = mx + b
slope(m) = 3
use either of ur points....(5,1)...x = 5 and y = 1
now we sub and find b, the y int
1 = 3(5) + b
1 = 15 + b
1 - 15 = b
-14 = b
so ur equation is : y = 3x - 14
