Why are overuse injuries particularly frustrating set-backs?

because they are caused by your exercise
because they last a long time
because they force you to stop exercising
because you have permanently damaged that body part

Overuse injuries is a muscle or joint injury caused by stress, it can affect muscles, nerves, tendons and ligaments. Most common injuries like this are lateral epicondylitis or tennis elbow, infrapatellar tendinitis or jumper's knee, shin splints, Achilles tendinitis, and so on.

Depending on the sports, overuse injuries will be. Sports where shoulders is most use, overuse injury will happen there. If elbows is the most used, overuse injuries is gonna happen there. So, basically for each sport exist an injury for overuse.
