Is this supposed to be a matching kinda thing? Is so..

1 matches with C.
2 matches with B. [A phone can't have scars, therefore why it's personification.]
3 matches with A. [Key word is "like".]

The correct pairing and example for each figure of speech are as follows:

Simile: a figure of speech used to compare something to a different type of thing.

- My phone slipped through my fingers like butter

Personification: a figure of speech used to illustrate non-human things in a human-like way.

- The face of my phone had many scars from being dropped.

Symbol: a figure of speech used to represent an abstract idea.

- My phone is my lifeline to the world.
