What must be addded to x squared minus x plus four to make it equal to (x+2)squared?

If you add 5x to the x then it will equal 4x. Then the equation would be x^2+4x+4 which equals to (x+2)^2 when factored. (x+2)(x+2)=x^2+2x+2x+4=x^2+4x+4.
