The Nazis basically brainwashed anyone who wasn't Jewish into thinking the Jews were the problem. Hitler was democratically elected by the people of Germany. It happened around 1938-1944

Germany suffered drastically during the Great Depression, and the nazis, then a workers group, wanted to do away with their former government, thinking that it was a symbol of failure (democratic). So, they got the support of most Germans, blamed the problem on certain groups of people (aka Jews, Russians, etc) and toppled the former* government, setting up the Nazi government. This occurred in the days before WW2, in the ~1930. Hope this helps XD (not very sure on the year, but for sure just before ww2)
