Charlotte Bronte's classic novel "Jane Eyre" tells the life story of an orphaned girl Jane Eyre. Beginning from her childhood till her old age, the whole book is narrated by the protagonist and everything is narrated from a first person's narrative point of view.

Chapters I-X follows Jane through her childhood, living with the Reeds and then to Lowood orphanage where she studied and later taught. But after this chapter, she began advertising, looking for work as an English teacher when she got called to be a governess at Thornfield. So, she moved out to start a new independent life of her own. Working as a governess, she took care of a little girl named Adela Varens, a ward of Mr. Rochester, the owner and master of Thornfield.
