Supreme Court
The Supreme Court is the greatest tribunal in the country for all proceedings and disputes occurring under the Constitution or the regulations of the United States. As the ultimate authority of the law, the Court is commissioned with assuring the American people the guarantee of equal justice under law and, thereby, also performs as defender and interpreter of the Constitution.
This authority of "judicial review" has given the Court as significant duty in ensuring personal rights, as well as in managing a "living Constitution" whose general outlines are constantly executed to complex new situations.
