its a building of sorts that helps study space.  to study our solar system and to help study people in 0 g's

A space station is a structure in space that people live in while studying [space], fixing satellites, etc. Some space stations are NASA, Mir, Tiangong 1, Salyut 1 (there are more than 5 Salyuts), and others.
