∴ Let the distance between M to N is x.


MP=(4x)/(7)

Now, MN = MP+PN


(4x)/(7)+PN=x


PN=x-(4x)/(7)


PN=(3x)/(7)

Hence, point P partitioned the line segment MN into


((4x)/(7))/((3x)/(7))= (4x)/(7)* (7)/(3x)

= 4:3
