5(x+12)=95 ...distribute
5x+60=95 ...subtract 60 from both sides of the equal sign
5x=35 ...divide both sides by 5 to isolate x
x=7
Check! Substitute x with 7 in the equation:
5(7+12)=95
5(19)=95
95=95
The answer is x=7.
