You already have what x and y are equal to, so you don't have to solve for anything. It's probably asking you to substitute. Because x=6, in the equation, you put 6 in the place of x so that you have:
6-y+6

You do the same thing with y, and y=1 so substitute and you get:
6-1+6

Now, because there are no parentheses, simply subtract 1 from 6. After, add the difference to 6:
