At Love Canal in the 1970s, there was an environmental disaster. In response, the Superfund law was passed.

Why can we view Love Canal and the creation of the Superfund as a positive environmental event?
It provided money to businesses responsible for toxic waste sites to clean up their pollution
It helped boost the economy among those waste sites
It allowed the EPA to find toxic waste sites and force the responsible parties to clean up the sites.
It helped identify toxic waste site and move people away from them

Answer:

It allowed the EPA to find toxic waste sites and force the responsible parties to clean up the sites.

Step-by-step explanation:

A large ditch was used for dumping of urban wastes in the 1920s. In the 1940s the US army dumped wastes from World War 2 there.

Estimated 21,000 tonnes of harzardous wastes like carcinogens benzene and PCBs.

Health problems like miscarriages, chromosome damage and birth defects began occuring in the community.

The Superfund a government programme aimed at cleaning up the worst harzardous chemical waste sites was instituted.

Hundreds of such sites have been cleaned up.
