Well 50 times 3 is 150 and 150+150=300, 300+50+50=400 and to find the area you have to do lengthy times width. 50 times 150= 7500 and also you have to put to the second power over feet so Ima put a * but you put a 2. "7500ft*" is your answer

Answer:

Area = 7500 square feet

Explanation:

Hello

Step 1

formule the equations

the equation for the perimeter of a rectangle is given by:

P=2*length+ 2* wide

Let length(L) the longer side and wide(W)

P=2L+2W

400=2L+2W,equation (1)

Step 2

the longer sides is three three times the shorter

it means

L=3W, equation 2

replace the value of L from equation (2) in equation (1) and solve for W

400=2L+2W

400=2(3W)+2W

400=6W+2W

400=8W

W=400/8

W=50 ft

now, replace the value of W in equation 2 to find L

L=3W

L=3*50 ft

L=150 ft

Step 3

find the area using

Area= length * wide

replace

Area=150 ft * 50 ft

Area = 7500 square feet .

Have a great day
