If a person has 6 tacos and will share with one other person, but the person eats 1.6 more than the other person how much tacos go to each. This could be in decimal form. What would the equation be to solve for x?

Explanation:

First, let us assume x = share of the first person who owns 6 tacos and y = the share of the other person whom x shared his tacos with.

6 = x + y \\ but \: y = 1.6 + x \\ 6 = x + (1.6 + x) \\ 6 - 1.6 = x + x \\ (4.4)/(2) = (2x)/(2) \\ 2.2 = x \\ \\ y = 1.6 + x \\ = 1.6 + 2.2 \\ = 3.8
