Suppose a historian wanted to argue that the Enlightenment had a more positive influence on the American Revolution than on the French Revolution. Which statement below would be the strongest evidence for the historian's view?

The French Revolution overthrew a monarchy and a social system, while the American Revolution only freed a group of colonies.
The American Revolution was led by men who admired Enlightenment thought, such as Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin.
The American Revolution produced a Declaration of Independence, while the French Revolution produced a Declaration of the Rights of Man.
In the French Revolution, the will of the people turned away from justice and toward mob violence, fanaticism, and dictatorship.

Answer:

In the French Revolution, the will of the people turned away from justice and toward mob violence, fanaticism, and dictatorship.

Step-by-step explanation:

The French Revolution started because the people were tired of famine and extreme poverty. When Louis declared war on Austria and Prussia the people were already tired of him and all of the obstacles they had to go through every single day.

The working class attacked Louis palace and imprisoned him with his family, he was on house arrest and later was executed.

Later, Robespierre gained power and started the Reign of Terror in France that lasted from 1793 to 1794, during his rule he created the Committee of Public Safety. He established a dictatorship.

This was different than in America, the American Revolution used the main points of Enlightenment to create a new country based on freedom. With that, they wrote the declaration of independence and later the Constitution.
