The Central Pacific Railroad was a rail track between California and Utah built eastwards from the West Coast in the 1860s. The crews were mainly composed by Chinese workers lured to America first by the California gold and then by railroad jobs. While the Union Pacific Railroad was built westwards from Omaha. And the crews were composed of former Union and Confederate soldiers, former slaves, and Irish and German immigrants. All varieties of issues delayed the attempt to finish the transcontinental line. But, between the options presented, we can affirm that C. Harsh weather conditions, played a big role as an obstacle on both companies. Blizzards could shut down work for weeks.
