Plasma cells are specified from B-lymphocytes when presented to an antigen. When the plasma cells are created, they produce immunoglobulins specifically for targeting the presented antigen.

The presentation of the antigen most come from the macrophages and the stimulus for B-lymphocytes most come from T-helpercells by some signal molecule.
