The answer is 5

5 less than 3 times a number (5) equals 10
3 x 5 = 15
5 - 15 = 10

Hope this helped. Have a great night!

Five less than three of a number equals ten.
3X-5=10
Add 5 to both sides, so you get 3X=15
Divide by 3 on both sides.
X=5
