The initial velocity = vi = 6m/s

The final velocity = vf = 16 m/s

The total time = t = 20 seconds

The rate of change in velocity is called acceleration (a) that can be written as:

a\text{ = }\frac{Change\text{ in velocity}}{time}

or

a\text{ = }(vf-vi)/(t)

Put the values in the equation to get the value of 'a'.

a\text{ = }\frac{16\text{ - 6}}{20}
a\text{ = }(10)/(20)

or

a\text{ = }(1)/(2)

hence, the value of a is 1/2.
