The phrases could belong to the style used in Poetic diction. The style uses figurative language and vocabulary that normally appears in metaphors used in verse.Poetic diction adds duty to any poem .It was first used by William Wordsworth who wanted the language in poetry to be different from that of the ordinary man.He wanted phrases written this way to have a special effect on the reader.
