Hollow bones allow birds to be light in weight, in order to fly. Streamline bodies also aid in flight, since it is compact. Oil causes issues for birds when they try to fly, since it messes with the feather's buoyancy.

the animal can maintain homeostasis. it can live without other adaptations that make it very hard to live.
