why do kids slice themselves? some say to cause more suffering. but arent they trying to get rid of the pain they already have? i used to be a heavy cutter, but i quit cause i knew how much it was hurting the ones i loved.

It weirdly takes the pain away pretty much it just takes what's off your mind

As a former self-harmer, I have to say that it's because they think it takes the pain away, as if physical pain hides the emotional pain. As weird as it sounds, it gets addicting.
